ITT Diaphragm Valve

ITT Grinnell Diaphragm Valves

The history of ITT Diaphragm Valve begins with ITT Grinnell Valve company, originally Grinnell Valve Company, a manufacturer of valves for control of chemicals and products for fire protection services engineered a product line of Diaphragm Valves, Grinnell Corp fire products, now Simplex Grinnell products,  like grooved couplings, fittings, and UL/FM valves. Grinnell Corp, the brand, manufactured Grinnell Bronze and Iron Valves, a complete range of bronze and iron valves: Angle, Ball, Butterfly, Check, Gate, Globe, and Needle, including a line of electric and air actuators to mount to the bonnet.

Later, a separate product line for commercial and UL FM ITT Grinnell Butterfly Valves was added, which are now manufactured by Emerson as the Series 60. These valves, like the  ITT Diaphragm Valve, are ideally suited for HVAC, the heating ventilation and air conditioning sector, water treatment, process, and irrigation markets.

The Grinnell product line was purchased by ITT Engineered valves. ITT Diaphragm Valves can be found in process applications with different tags and markings as the same series of well-designed products under the product name Dia-Flo, ITT Grinnell Corp, ITT Engineered, Pure-Flo, and Grinnell Corp. 303 markings are found on all ITT Diaphragm Valves.

The ITT Diaphragm Valve product is offered with a wide range of diaphragm materials to choose from, including diaphragms for air motors: natural rubber, butyl, buna-n, nitrile rubber, EPDM, Hypalon, Teflon backed EPDM, Teflon backed Viton, Teflon backed Hypalon, Viton, white butyl, PTFE and ethylene-propylene 325 for Weir Type and Straightway Diaphragm Valves. Air Motor Diaphragms are made of Buna, for ITT Grinnell Fail Open, Fail Closed, and Double Acting Actuators.

Performance Data

Performance Data is critical to the process engineer at a manufacturing site. Breakthrough technology in the ITT Pure Flo Envizion Valve and ITT Pure Flo Biovizion Valve Diaphragm components, offer process engineers ease of installation and maintenance, key factors when evaluation performance data. Product design and engineering is fundamental to process design. The product design and engineering require sophisticated tools and experienced engineers to evaluate performance data. Advancements in ITT computational power and design techniques have helped engineers to evaluate design performance quickly. The optimum ITT Pure Flo Envizion Valve and ITT Pure Flo Biovizion Valve Diaphragm design of valves provide individual process designers and teams the desired result when compared to legacy data. The ITT Pure Flo Envizion Valve and ITT Pure Flo Biovizion Valve stainless steel removable bonnet allows customers to replace diaphragms easily, saving time and money with a minimum of downtime. For improved functionality, replacement of components, inspection or replacement of block valves, request the ITT Installation, Operation, and Valve Maintenance Manual for ITT Pure Flo Envizion and ITT Pure Flo Biovizion Valves by requesting Form IOM.ENVBV.en-US.2020-04.

User Experience

Process engineers and equipment managers rate ITT Pure Flo and ITT Dia Flo designs as “best rated” by customers responsible for site systems. ITT tank bottom diaphragm valves can be used as block valves for washdown media equipment, process fluids, molecule drugs equipment lines, process fabrications, manufacturing facilities process applications and critical installations where functionality and precision are of primary importance to the user experience. The ITT product design for both ITT Pure Flo and ITT Dia Flo design permits valve components to be dismantled quickly for maintenance or diaphragm removal and replacement. Customers user experience is our first priority at Authorized Parts, Inc.

ITT Diaphragm Valve Air Motor

ITT Engineered Weir Type and Straightway Diaphragm Valves with an Air Motor manufactured by ITT Grinnell include the 3100 Series Fail Open Actuators(Spring to Open – Air to Close), 3200 Series Fail Closed Actuators(Air to Open – Spring to Close), and 3300 Series Double Acting Air to Open – Air to Close Actuators. The Fail Open Actuators and Fail Closed Actuators have replaceable springs.

The Size Range for the pipeline size covers 1/2″ to 12″ with variable pressure ratings depending upon the specific application. All flange connections are ASME Class 125/150. FAQ’s

If no Figure Number is visible or the nameplate is missing, the valve body casting and air motor will be marked with the Grinnell name, Dia-Flo, Pure-Flo, Advantage, or ITT Engineered Valves 303 number and valve size. Determine if the valve is marked as lined. If there is an Air Motor, specify the corresponding size number: 12, 25, 50, 75, 101, 130, and 250 and whether the air motor is Fail Open, Fail Closed, or Double Acting. Along with the service media information, a replacement recommendation can be made.

Yes. Other manufacturer’s valves cross-reference to ITT Diaphragm Valves. Saunders, Dia-Flo, Pure-Flo, Dow, Resistoflex, Century, and Hills-McCanna are examples of manufacturers with equivalent products. However, not all design features are the same, so care should be taken when evaluating. Be especially careful when reviewing the face-to-face dimensions when making comparisons.

Yes. All valve and air motor testing requirements can be made available. MTR’s, NDE, Pressure Testing, Radiography Testing, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, PMI, Positive Material Identification, Hardness Testing, Failure Analysis, spark testing, or electrostatic and hydro-testing per ASTM 1545. Note: The Pressure Rating of the valve is influenced by the diaphragm material. The hydrostatic test pressure must not exceed the maximum pressure rating of the diaphragm.
